We are thrilled to announce that Baby Basics was selected by the Community Foundation of Collier County (CFCC) as one of its 2018 honorees at the organization’s annual Celebration of Philanthropy event that was held on Friday, November 2 at Grey Oaks Country Club.

Baby Basics was recognized as an organization that consistently helps support our community by making intelligent use of its own strengths and social capital. Baby Basics was named a Harvey Kapnick Award recipient for its work with the CFCC during Hurricane Irma.

Other organizations recognized as Harvey Kapnick Award recipients included Catholic Charities, Collier Senior Resources, Grace Place For Children & Families, Greater Marco Family YMCA, Guadalupe Center, Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Naples Senior Center at JFCS, Legal Aid Service of Collier County, Meals of Hope, Redlands Christian Migrant Association-RCMA, ReachOut Everglades, Rural Neighborhoods, Salvation Army Naples, Senior Friendship House, and the United Methodist Committee on Relief-UMCOR.

In addition, Rooms to Go was named Outstanding Corporation; Collier County Public Schools earned the Excellence in Civic Leadership; and FineMark National Bank and Trust and First Florida Integrity Bank were given the Collaboration Award.

It was an absolute honor to be recognized for the countless hours that our dedicated volunteers spent acquiring and distributing diapers to the hundreds of babies affected by Hurricane Irma. While we certainly don’t do what we do for the awards, it is wonderful to be appreciated.
